The Pachamama Global Gathering

I just returned from a 7 day Pachamama Gathering. I am exhausted, full of hope, full of despair and very much wanting to briefly share my experience. Here is my attempt. I hope that my notes were accurate.

Smiling Into The Face of The Shadow--- August 28, 2007

The current disclosure of the airport bathroom arrest of another anti-gay politician reminds me of the old trite statement. "The Bigger the Front the Bigger the Back." It is a good time to review what Professor Jung taught us about the SHADOOOOOOOW. (These thoughts are not restricted to just anti-gay politicians or any political party.)

Coming Out of The Shadow

I really do believe that we live in amazing times. I told Margaret Wheatley a few years ago that I am very hopeful for the future because I am hanging out with so many amazing people. Margaret put her hand on my arm and told me that my only problem is that I am hanging out with all the right people. Well there are even more of you today and I am feeling even more hopeful.

The question I have for this weeks newsletter is- Why are we not feeling the terror of global warming? Science Educator David Suzuki was asked last Friday night whether he feels hope? He answered that he and is wife go to bed every night in tears over their fear for the future and their belief that they are not doing enough. In the morning they see their grandchildren and again feel hope.

All About Hope October 17, 2007

I am feeling a lot of hope about the future today. Hope is one of those words in need of re-definition. I think hope is the critical first step towards empowerment.

Jena, New Orleans and Climate Change--- September 27, 2007

I chose to write this week about what's happening in Jena, Louisiana because I would like the readers to understand what in my opinion this is all about. I hope my writings cause you to think about what you value most. My friend Habib Rose, the sweetest of human beings passed away suddenly this week. Habib was the net worker of all net workers. His contribution to social justice and sustainability in the NorthWest has been monumental. His loss will be felt on many levels. He will be missed.
