Weekly Memo # 2 August 12, 2007

We have been on a crash course to learn the amazing world of open source software. It is like learning a new foreign language with all kinds of grammar that you have to learn. When something goes wrong there is no one to call for help. But the possibility of creating wonderful tools for a small non-profit are very impressive. Right now we are struggling making our PAYPAL/Credit Card processor work. Please send healing messages.

Last night our board member Milt Smith celebrated his 70th birthday. Milt credited ForTheGrandChildren for inspiring him to create an "ethical will". He chose the occasion to read his ethical will which included direct references to what he holds sacred in his life including a concern for future generations. We were honored by his actions.

Co-Founder Rich Henry is doing well (knock wood) in his holistic campaign to heal from Brain Cancer. Rich recently wrote an article about his journey and beliefs in a journal called Second Journey. Here is the link http://www.secondjourney.org/newsltr/07_Sum/Henry.htm.
